There's a better way to get through the college process,
start to finish.
It starts with a plan.

Most families experience this as years of arguments, missed deadlines, last-minute scrambles, and mounting anxiety. I'm a PMP-certified project manager, and I run the college application process the same way I run everything else: with a real plan, clear milestones, and someone accountable for execution.

The college application process, managed.

College Chartered is not traditional college counseling. I don't write their essays, outreach emails, or complete their scholarship applications for them.

What I do is manage everything around it.

I build the plan, own the timeline, run the check-ins, and make sure every deadline is hit. Your student has a structure they can work within. You have visibility without being responsible for enforcing it. And the process gets done, on time and without chaos

Running a complex, high-stakes project without a project manager is how things go sideways. That's as true for college applications as it is for anything else.

"Working with Megan has completely changed how our family is experiencing this process. I feel in the loop without feeling responsible for keeping everything on track — she owns that, and it's made an enormous difference. I'm able to actually engage with my daughter about college in a way that feels supportive instead of stressful. The arguments we used to have just aren't happening anymore.

What's surprised me most is how much my daughter has gotten out of it. She's made real connections with faculty at several of her target schools — something I never would have thought to do, let alone known how to coach her through. She's motivated, she's engaged, and the whole process feels manageable in a way it absolutely did not before we started working with Megan. I don't know how families do this without someone like her."

A shared plan, tracked in real time, from junior year through graduation.

School List Development

Start with 20+ options. Narrow systematically to 8–10 schools that fit academically, culturally, and personally. A list your student actually wants to work through. I help your student with research and filtering this list.

Professor Outreach Coaching

As the list is being reviewed, your student connects with faculty at target schools. This helps them learn about the school and program, and make a meaningful impression on faculty. I coach them through it.

Timeline & Deadline Management

A shared project plan from fall of junior year through submission. You'll always know where things stand, and so will your student.

A project manager
who gets it done.

I'm Megan Notarte, a PMP-certified executive with 15+ years managing complex initiatives at technology organizations. I've spent my career building systems that help people navigate complicated, high-stakes processes without losing their minds.

When my own family went through the college application process, I ran it the same way I run everything else: a real plan, clear milestones, structured check-ins. It worked. College Chartered is what I built from that experience.

I'm a project manager who has guided students through this process from start to finish and who will make sure it actually gets done.
